Symon will try to make "Dinner: Impossible" possible

Here's a follow-up to an earlier post about Food Network's 3rd highest rated show, Dinner: Impossible, being called done by yours truly. A press release from the cable channel came out last week with the news that Michael Symon, the winner of last year's Next Iron Chef America show, will take over for the deposed Robert Irvine.

Other tidbits about the show were that the actual content will stay the same with the actual show length will grow from 30 minute to an hour. Symon is based out of Cleveland and the people from his two restaurants, Lola and Lolita, will tag along with the chef to the challenges that he is presented with on the show.

I'm not sure if how the show will translate with the new host. From what I have seen of Symon on Iron Chef America and the Next Iron Chef America, he doesn't seem as outlandish or as gregarious as Irvine, who made the show a little more watchable and entertaining if for nothing else other than his very British accent. I'll tune in to see the first episode but I have a feeling that I won't come back.

Image of the Day for 09-05-07

I'm on the fence about the latest batch of TV shows with elements of sci-fi and comic book mythos such as Heroes and Battlestar Galatica will generate any more comic book readers than are previously in existence. But there's always hope. The image above is for the aforementioned Heroes Hardcover that is due out in stores October 24th. If you're interested, here's the write-up about it:
This stunning hardcover collects the amazing online comics based on the smash-hit, Emmy Award-nominated NBC show HEROES! This volume — featuring two stunning covers by comics legends Jim Lee and Alex Ross — also includes an introduction by Masi Oka (Hiro), all 34 chapters of Season One, and Tim Sale's artwork as seen on the show. The comics included have been written and illustrated by some of comics' and television's top writers and artists, including Michael Turner, Phil Jimenez, Marcus To, and more!

I cannot tell a lie..

It appears that the Patriots are coming to close to the "America's Team" moniker if this image from DirecTV's NFL Sunday Ticket ad is any indication:

Summer Tune In - Sunday, July 15, 2007

If you had a list of exes like Pamela Anderson, Nicole Eggert, Denise Richards and Heather Locklear, would you question your ability to remain in a relationship longer than your acting career? Well, Scott Baio is doing that same thing via his new reality series on VH-1 as part of their ever-expanding "Celebreality" banner. From what I've seen, this is not some egomanical attempt at grabbing the fading spotlight (aka a Bonnaduce). It's appears to be a somewhat honest attempt at delving into the reasons why some people can't stay in a long-term relationship by going back to the exes and finding out what exactly went wrong. And I'll admit it - the guy is probably the most unassuming and low key former "Can't Miss" TV star turned into Reality TV star around. So I'm pulling for great things with the show. And if some of those ex-girlfriends show up, all the better.
